This site is intended to promote
BostBilliards, but our intention is also to leave our customers
& visitors to our website more knowledgeable about their pool
table as well as what makes it a good product. No one wants a shabby
product. There are several things that a family or individual
shopping for a pool table should be aware of, and listed below are a
few. We hope that youll know after you read these items whether or
not the used/pre-owned product youre checking out is worth your
investment. Here we go!
To Scrap or not To
Scrap
S
is for Slate. Is the thickness of the slate 3/4
or 1-inch? Is it rimed or not: Here's a tip, look under the table
and check for cracks or run your hand across the top, this may
reveal cracks. Remember that a straight-line side to side is where
two slates meet. If slate is faulty this could add $300.00 to $800.00 to the cost.
C
is for Cloth. If cloth is stained, ripped, four years or older or maybe the color is not desirable: This could add $ 225.00 to the
cost.
R
is for Rubber. Is the rubber hard and has no bounce or is loose and sagging:
To check the
rubber, firmly push the ball across the table and it should rebound
off the rails four times. If this test fails it could add $150.00 to
the expense, plus the cost of the recovering expense with new
covering.
A
is for Accessories. Does the table come with accessories:
"Bridge, Balls, Brushes, Cover,
Racks and Que Sticks", if not, the accessory kits range from $99.00
to $499.00.
P
is for Pockets. If the Pockets are leather they
could be dry and brittle, scuffed up or torn. Plastic pockets could
also be brittle or torn. The cost for a set of six pool table
pockets could range from $65.00 to $350.00.
Total up some of the possible expenses and compare it to pricing of our reconditioned pool tables www.Bostbilliars.com Our reconditioned tables include your color
